Do the finished surfaces differ with the prefabrication method and “cast-in-place” method?

With the prefabrication method, using our Worktop Premix Kit the finish is as smooth or rough as the surface onto which you cast you concrete. So if you cast onto a very smooth piece of plastic or melamine then the concrete surface will be very smooth. If you cast on to a material with texture such as touch timber, the concrete will take on the finish of the timber.

With the “Cast-in-place” method, using our Craft Mix the finished surface is trowelled and then sanded. It has a more rustic and traditional finish.
